Well it has been ages since we made a blog entry, so we thought we’d bring you up to date.

We hope you all had a good christmas and new year, we did!! We’ve made a new year’s resoloution to get more tracks added to the site as quickly as we can, so to that end we’ve just added 54 new pieces to the database, all are from the new ABRSM woodwind syllabus.

We are now working on the next upload of tracks which includes a new instrument!

I’ve just finished adding some tracks for the brand new ABRSM Strings syllabus 2008-11

We have today been working on the new flute and clarinet syllabus, which will be uploaded very soon!

We’ve just finished another huge update to the site, adding another 62 pieces to the Trinity Guildhall Woodwind section (Flute & Clarinet). We are working on the new ABRSM violin syllabus as we speak, and we’ll upload as soon as possible.

We currently have some more Trinity tracks in production and are just starting on the new ABRSM strings syllabus, so watch this space for more tracks soon!

No I’m not talking about the recent postal strikes! Just a quick note to apologise for the lack of posts of late. The reason really is that we are busy trying to maximise the amount of tracks available before the new school term starts in September. We will hopefully be adding some more Trinity Guilldhall pieces this weekend.

Ok so I have just added another 76 pieces but they are not all for Trombone!! The majority of the pieces just added are for Trinity Guildhall Trombone Grades 1-3, but there is also a smattering of higher grade Trumpet/Cornet for ABRSM, these have been added because we have had customer requests for them. If there is a piece you need but can’t find at musictools direct let us know and we could do the same for you!

I don’t want this to become a theme for this blog, but there are rather a lot of ‘Talent Shows’ about at the minute. For those who watched the final of Britain’s Got Talent you’ll know what the title is all about. It would seem the mild mannered mobile phone sales man from Wales has a secret Identity, you see Paul Potts leads a double life and has now transformed into his true identity OPERAMAN!

In all fairness he was very good and I’m sure he will have a startling career ahead of him, I just felt sorry for little 6 year old Connie who was apparently distraught when she didn’t win (and probably scarred for life!)

 Anyway back to business, we had a customer request for some Grade 5 Trombone pieces, and as obliging as we are, we have today added them to the site. We’ve got some more higher grade stuff on the way for various instruments, but as always if there is something you need please let us know.

In a rare break from working on new tracks I watched the final of Any Dream Will Do on Saturday, IMHO the right guy won! OK so maybe a couple of the guys had better voices, but Lee was the best all round performer. Hopefully I ‘ll get down to see the show at some point.

On The subject of tracks, we are busily working away on some more Trinity Guildhall syllabus mp3s which will hopefully be ready to upload over the next couple of days. In the mean time if you  have any tracks that you simply can’t wait for, let us know and we might be able to make it our priority!

What has happened to the sunshine!?!

I don’t know about your part of the world but the sun has not got his hat on in Skegness Today!!! Never mind it doesn’t stop us from continuing to work hard to bring you more resources – today we’ve added 16 pieces to the Trinity Guildhall, Trumpet Grade 1 syllabus. Plenty more where they came from – on the way soon.

 Here’s hoping for more sunshine tomorrow!

Hello everyone  thanks for dropping by,

It’s hard to believe that it’s been just six months since we came up with the idea for www.musictoolsdirect.com it’s been six months of hard but very rewarding work. We think that we have developed a site that is easy to use and a great resource for musicians everywhere, if you haven’t already check it out!

We want to develop what is essentially the ‘itunes’ of music education. You’ll see from the site that we already have an extensive catalogue of music grade exam pieces for download. There are tracks available from both the ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall Syllabus’ . We are adding new material all the time. If you’ve got any comments, questions or suggestions please feel free to let us know.

It is extremely hot in Sunny Skegness today and the air conditioning has broken down in our offices!!! but we are not complaining just enjoying the sunshine.
